Owen Fisher, MSc, BSc (Hons), FMVA, FRM
Owen Fisher has been appointed Group Senior Manager, Financial Risk and is
accountable for day to day oversight of risk management, with particular emphasis
on prevention of financial risk – including Capital, Liquidity, Funding and Treasury. In
particular, he will be responsible for the identification, analysis and mitigation of
internal and external financial risks across the Group; their categorisation in terms of
potential scale, impact; and assessment of potential damage to JNG’s financial
stability and performance.
Since joining the JN Group, Mr Fisher has held key positions, including Manager –
Business Advisory Services, Assistant Manager and Business Advisor in the Business
Advisory Services Unit. He previously held key positions at the Bank of Jamaica,
including Economist in the Research and Economic Programming Division and
Economist Intern in the Technical Unit, Research Department, Eastern Caribbean
Central Bank (ECCB).
A graduate of The University of the West Indies, Mr Fisher completed the BSc. Degree,
(First Class Honours) in Banking and Finance and MSc. Degree in Economics
(Distinction). He holds the Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA)
Certification from the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI) and Financial Risk
Management (FRM) – Part I from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).
