JN Foundation Congratulates Journalist of the Year
Television Jamaica’s Giovanni Dennis (right), Journalist of the Year, is congratulated by master photographer, Radcliffe ‘Ruddy’ Roye (centre), a guest of one of the sponsors, The Jamaica National Group. Mr Dennis copped the award for his substantial body work over the past year, including his special report highlighting illegal drag racing on Jamaican thoroughfares. Mr Roye, who has worked with magazines such as the National Geographic and TIME, is in Jamaica currently as a judge and mentor for competitors in the JN Foundation’s Photo Advocacy and Visual Arts Competition to promote road safety and helmet use. Also sharing the moment is Omar Wright, lead – Environment and Community Development Programmes, JN Foundation. The occasion was the National Journalism Awards held at the Spanish Court Hotel on November 23.
