Nurse McLean was selected from a field of six finalists at the institution at the event to mark National Nurses’ Week, which was celebrated July 14-20.

In Jamaica, July is recognised as Healthcare Appreciation Month, and from July 14-20 nurses held their own week of celebrations. As part of National Nurses Week, JN Bank, for an eighth consecutive year, presented the Nurse of Excellence Award to one member of The University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) nursing team. The ceremony not only recognised outstanding nurses but reinforced the call for more investment in the profession.
