Jermaine Deans, MBA, BSc

Experienced team leader and strategist, Jermaine Deans, assumed the role of Managing Director of JN Cayman in December 2019. As Managing Director, he drives business strategy, oversees operations, and leads initiatives to ensure the high performance and continued success of the company.

Mr Deans, who joined The Jamaica National Group in 2016 as a Deputy General Manager of JN Fund Managers Limited, holds a BSc. in Business Administration, Finance Major and an MBA, Finance Major, with concentration in Investment Management, from Villanova School of Business, Villanova University, Pennsylvania, USA.

He has over 23 years of expertise across global financial markets, capital markets, commercial banking, treasury management, FX and bond trading, corporate finance, and market risk assessment. His experience also spans balance sheet restructuring, monetary and fiscal policy, central government management, and financial institution supervision.

He has designed balance sheet solutions for various entities through financial advisory, business process re-engineering, debt and equity management, acquisitions and initial public offers (IPOs). He has also developed portfolio strategies for individual clients and proprietary assets to meet defined objectives.

Mr Deans was previously Head of Capital Markets at Sagicor Investments Jamaica Limited and a past Director of Peak Bottling Company Limited, Spike Industries Limited and Stationery and Office Supplies Limited.

He also served as a member of the Bankers Sub-Committee of the Jamaica Bankers Association and lectured on Portfolio Management and Financial Markets.
