Our corporate social responsibility initiatives reflect our dedication to to enrich lives and build communities while creating long-term value for our members and assisting them to achieve their best outcomes.
Since the Westmoreland Building Society was founded in 1874 and its subsequent mergers with other building societies and change of name to the Jamaica National Building Society in 1970 and The Jamaica National Group in 2017, the organisation has been committed to making a positive impact on society and to building communities. Over the years, the organisation has contributed to various sectors, including education, culture, sports and engagement with the Jamaican Diaspora.
The JN Foundation, launched in 1990, is one of the leading charitable organisations in Jamaica with the goal to help Jamaicans to achieve their full potential. This is accomplished through projects which fall under four broad categories: skills and personal development, education, health and safety, social empowerment and the environment.
In 2019, the JN Circle, a network of service clubs, was introduced to JN members, with the aim of encouraging members to work together to take action to improve lives and positively impact communities. There are 16 chapters of the JN Circle in Jamaica and one each in the UK and Canada
