Information technology professional, Ernest Edwards, brings a wealth of experience as Executive, Software Development, to The Jamaica National Group, which he joined on February 1, 2023.
He has more than two decades experience in implementing, managing and supporting technology platforms for the financial services industry in the areas of remittance, corporate and retail banking, mortgage lending, investments, pension, mutual funds, and electronic channels.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Edwards was employed to the JMMB Group as Head, Financial ERP Systems – Centre of Excellence and as Senior Manager, Information Technology Projects. He has also served Capital & Credit Financial Group as Vice President, Information Technology. He also served the former Jamaica National Building Society as Software Developer and Data Processing Supervisor and Senior Mortgage Clerk.
Mr Edwards completed a Master of Science degree with distinction in Computer Based Management Information Systems at The University of the West Indies, Mona, and a Bachelor of Science degree with first class honours in Computer and Management at the University of Technology, Jamaica. He is a certified project management professional with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is a Scrum Master.
An avid Toastmaster, Mr Edwards is the immediate past President of the Sagicor Group Jamaica Toastmasters Club.
